About Qantas

Qantas, founded in the Queensland outback in 1920, has developed into Australia’s largest airline group across regional, domestic, and international markets. The wider Qantas Group also includes subsidiary businesses that help support the company’s operations. Its core business is moving passengers and freight through two complementary airline brands, Qantas and Jetstar, which serve regional, domestic, and international routes.

Role Overview

This is a 12-month fixed-term position based in Mascot, Sydney. The role offers the chance to lead significant transformation work that will influence the employee experience across Qantas. You will work closely with senior leaders, HR business partners, and program teams to strengthen alignment, drive stakeholder engagement, and support adoption. • Influence stakeholders at both leadership and frontline levels.
  • Balance strategic planning with practical delivery and detailed execution.
  • Apply modern tools and approaches, including AI where relevant, to improve communication and adoption.

Requirements

  • At least 8 years of experience in change management, with a strong record of delivering complex transformation programs across an enterprise.
  • Proven background in leading people-focused change within HR or People & Culture environments.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing capability, including experience working with senior leaders and frontline teams.
  • Ability to operate both strategically and in a hands-on delivery capacity.
  • Experience in complex, fast-moving, and highly regulated environments is an advantage.
  • Good understanding of emerging technologies, including AI, and how they can improve change communication and adoption.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Business, HR, Change Management, or a similar field.
  • Change management certification such as Prosci or APMG is preferred.

Perks and Benefits

  • Discounted air travel for you, your family, and friends within Australia and internationally.
  • Exclusive offers on accommodation and holiday travel.
  • Flexible leave options, including up to 18 weeks of paid parental leave and the option to purchase additional leave.
  • Access to a wide range of rewards and discounts across shopping, food and wine, insurance, health and wellbeing, leisure, and entertainment.
  • Salary packaging options, including motor vehicles, eligible portable electronic devices, and professional memberships.
