Role overview

The Junior Accountant will assist the finance team with day-to-day accounting work, helping ensure records are accurate, compliant, and delivered on time. This position suits someone with solid analytical ability and a basic grasp of accounting principles.

Key responsibilities

• Keep the general ledger current and record financial activity accurately.
• Complete monthly reconciliations for bank accounts, credit cards, and other statements.
• Help manage accounts payable and accounts receivable activities so processing stays timely and correct.
• Support month-end and year-end closing tasks within required deadlines.
• Draft and check journal entries together with the necessary supporting documents.
• Contribute to the preparation of financial statements such as balance sheets and income statements.
• Maintain well-organized and accurate accounting records and files.
• Assist with internal and external audits by preparing schedules and reports requested by auditors.
• Work in line with GAAP/IFRS requirements and the company’s internal accounting rules.
• Partner with teams across the business to spot and resolve accounting differences.

Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related discipline.
• Strong written and spoken English and Arabic communication skills.
• 0 to 2 years of accounting experience.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Experience with accounting systems such as QuickBooks, SAP, Tally, or Oracle is an advantage.
