Insurance Administrator

Role overview

This position is responsible for handling insurance administration in a healthcare environment, with a strong focus on fast and accurate pre-authorisation support.

Key responsibilities

• Review and process approval requests, submitting the required information correctly so that eligibility and authorization decisions can be confirmed.
• Prepare cost estimates in line with regulator requirements, including DRG-based calculations.
• Track pending cases each day and follow up on any missing or outstanding information.
• Make sure insurance procedures are implemented promptly and remain aligned with applicable policy requirements.
• Compile and circulate relevant reports.
• Share clear, accurate, and timely insurance updates and guidance with patients and colleagues.

Education and experience

A recognized Diploma or Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution is required, along with a CPC coding certificate. The role also calls for at least 2 years of experience in a healthcare setting with relevant medical insurance exposure.

Skills and knowledge

The role requires strong facilitation ability, a service-oriented approach, understanding of client service management principles, clinical coding knowledge, medical terminology, good English communication skills, familiarity with healthcare insurance rules, and experience with insurance claims.
