Role overview
Cape Smokey is hiring a dependable, courteous housekeeper to help maintain clean, comfortable, and inviting guest spaces. In this role, you will support the daily upkeep of rooms and common areas so visitors experience a high standard of cleanliness and service.
Responsibilities
- Keep floors clean by sweeping, mopping, washing, and polishing as needed.
- Remove dust from furniture and other surfaces.
- Vacuum carpets, area rugs, drapes, and upholstered furnishings.
- Prepare guest rooms by making beds and replacing used sheets.
- Replenish towels, toiletries, and similar guest supplies.
- Maintain stocked linen storage areas.
- Clean, sanitize, and polish kitchen and bathroom fixtures and appliances.
- Collect, document, and report any lost and found property.
- Respond to requests for extra supplies or other guest needs.
- Share basic information about the property and available facilities.
- Collect debris and empty waste containers.
- Wash clothing and household linens when required.
- Carry out general light cleaning and housekeeping duties.
- Purchase food and household supplies when needed.
- Wash windows, walls, and ceilings.
- Address guest complaints, questions, or concerns in a professional manner.
Working conditions
This is a term role with scheduled shift work. The position requires 30 to 48 hours per week. Work is carried out on site in Ingonish Beach, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, Canada.
