About the Role

This Head of Facilities & Support position is within the Infrastructure and Assets Group, responsible for delivering resilient infrastructure and services that enrich the community. The role involves strategic and operational ownership of the Council's vertical assets, ensuring they are well-managed, sustainable, compliant, and aligned with long-term community goals. As a leader, you will manage a high-performing team and a significant operational budget, focusing on value, performance, and long-term planning.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and foster a high-performing, engaged team culture.
  • Oversee the performance and long-term strategic planning for the Council's vertical facilities and building portfolio.
  • Manage the complete asset lifecycle, including planning, maintenance, renewal, and optimization.
  • Administer budgets, manage forecasting, and identify opportunities for cost efficiencies in vertical facilities operations.
  • Direct strong contract management, procurement processes, and supplier partnerships.
  • Ensure all vertical facilities are safe, compliant, and well-maintained for both staff and community use.
  • Provide strategic guidance to internal stakeholders to facilitate informed decision-making.
  • Enhance collaboration across Council departments and with external partners to achieve key program objectives.
