Role overview
This is an opportunity to lead artificial intelligence for a fast-scaling EV charging technology company in Germany. The role sits at the intersection of technical leadership, product innovation and commercial impact, with responsibility for setting the direction of AI across smart charging infrastructure and related products.
You will shape the AI vision, translate it into a practical roadmap, and guide the creation of next-generation AI solutions. The position involves close partnership with executive leadership as well as Product, Engineering and Commercial teams to turn business needs into measurable AI outcomes.
What you will do
- Set the AI direction for the business and turn it into an actionable long-term plan.
- Recruit, coach and grow a strong team of AI Engineers, Data Scientists and Machine Learning Engineers.
- Create advanced predictive models, forecasting tools and optimisation methods.
- Drive the use of Generative AI, Large Language Models and AI Agents in customer-facing and internal tools.
- Put in place strong standards for AI governance, model oversight, data quality and responsible AI practices.
- Own the design of scalable AI infrastructure and MLOps processes.
- Work with Product, Engineering and Commercial stakeholders to convert operational and business challenges into effective AI solutions.
- Keep track of emerging AI developments and spot opportunities that can create a competitive edge.
- Act as a representative of the company in the broader AI and electric mobility community through partnerships, events and innovation efforts.
