Groundskeeper

Role overview

The Groundskeeper is responsible for keeping the hotel’s outdoor areas clean, safe, and visually appealing at the Doha property in Ras Abu Abboud Street, Qatar. This is a full-time, non-management position within the Landscaping & Grounds category and is not a remote role.

Key duties

• Monitor the condition and presentation of the property’s grounds and outdoor spaces.
• Maintain lawns by mowing, edging, raking leaves, and carrying out routine upkeep.
• Wash, clean, and restock equipment after use so it remains ready for the next task.
• Care for flower beds, baskets, and planters through watering, weeding, trimming, and related maintenance.
• Empty outdoor waste bins and bag collected rubbish appropriately.
• Keep fountains, planters, and similar features attractive and functional by cleaning, replacing, or repairing them when needed.
• Preserve the safety and appearance of sidewalks, walkways, paths, and parking areas by filling cracks and holes and completing other minor repairs.
• Operate tractors, trucks, and utility vehicles to move equipment and supplies.
• Remove snow and control ice accumulation where required.
• Carry out any other duties assigned by supervisors that align with the role.

Physical requirements

• Be able to lift, carry, push, pull, move, or position items weighing up to 50 lbs (22.7 kg) without assistance.
• Stand, sit, or walk for long periods, including an entire shift.
• Visually inspect tools, equipment, and machinery to identify defects.
• Handle objects of varying size and weight with strong coordination and manual dexterity.
• Reach above the head and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
• Move across sloped, uneven, or slippery surfaces and stairs.
• Climb up and down ladders.
• Use fine and gross motor skills continuously, including frequent two-handed coordination.

Qualifications

The preferred education level is a high school diploma or equivalent. Related experience of less than one year is expected, and no supervisory background is required. No license or certification is listed as mandatory.
