Role overview
This permanent full-time position runs Monday to Friday in Larapinta, Queensland. The role supports branch operations and sits within a stable, family-friendly business.
About the position
Reporting to the Workshop Supervisor, the General Hand plays a key support role across workshop and transport activities. The focus is on managing inbound and outbound movement of forklifts, attachments, batteries and related equipment, while helping with stock control, stocktaking and the smooth flow of work in line with company procedures and safety expectations.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and coordinate daily transport needs for customer deliveries and inter-branch transfers, keeping to agreed schedules.
- Make sure incoming and outgoing goods are sent with the right paperwork and processed according to administration requirements.
- Handle the receipt of batteries and attachments while keeping records accurate and up to date.
- Keep workshop, storage and inventory areas neat and organised in line with 5S housekeeping standards.
- Support forklift and attachment stock counts.
- Complete general hand tasks while meeting quality, safety and customer service standards.
- Work with transport providers to help ensure deliveries and receivals happen on time.
Skills and experience
- Previous experience in a similar job and industry environment.
- A current and valid forklift licence, with hands-on experience.
- Comfort using basic computer systems.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills.
- Self-driven and able to take initiative.
- Able to work well in a team and also independently when required.
