Role overview
Brenntag Saudi Arabia is looking for an experienced and driven External Account Manager to join its chemical raw materials sales operation in Jeddah. The position focuses on expanding business across the paints, coatings, inks, adhesives, and construction chemicals segments, along with closely related industries.
The role calls for a solid sales background in chemical raw materials, ideally with exposure to coatings and construction markets in Jeddah and the western region. A strong technical foundation in chemical engineering is considered important for success in this position.
What you will do
- Create and implement sales plans that support monthly and yearly growth goals in coatings and construction chemicals.
- Look for and convert new business opportunities among customers, manufacturers, and end users.
- Maintain productive relationships with clients, suppliers, and key industry contacts.
- Deliver technical selling support, including product guidance, formulation coordination, and issue resolution.
- Track market changes, competitor activity, and customer requirements to refine sales approaches.
- Work with customer R&D and supply chain teams so sales activity supports shared business objectives and growth plans.
- Build sales forecasts using market insights and prepare reports and presentations for senior leadership decision-making.
- Handle negotiations on contracts, pricing, and supply arrangements with customers and suppliers.
- Follow company policies, applicable regulations, and QSHE expectations at all times.
Qualifications and experience
The company is seeking candidates with a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering or chemistry. A minimum of 3 to 4 years of sales experience in chemical raw materials is required, particularly in paints, coatings, adhesives, and construction chemicals, with proven results in the Jeddah and western region market.
Applicants should have strong working knowledge of resins, solvents, additives, pigments, and other raw materials commonly used in coatings and construction chemicals. A strong record of achieving or surpassing sales targets in Saudi Arabia is preferred.
Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation ability in both English and Arabic is needed. The role also requires willingness to travel within Saudi Arabia.
