About the role
Deloitte is seeking an Experienced Associate to join its Audit team in Wellington. This opportunity sits within the Audit, Assurance and Reporting Advisory practice and is suited to someone with at least two years of hands-on experience delivering audit and assurance work in a chartered accounting environment.
The role offers exposure to a major global accounting firm, the chance to work across a wide mix of industries and the opportunity to be part of a team culture shaped by shared values.
What you will do
- Share findings clearly and put forward advice, including helping put recommendations into action.
- Check written advice, reports, memoranda and other related client deliverables.
- Use analytical thinking and problem-solving to develop recommendations that support client strategy.
- Apply knowledge of audit and risk advisory matters, along with stakeholder needs, to tackle complex issues.
- Build strong relationships and communicate in a way that positively influences clients, teams and individuals.
- Provide high-quality client service while working collaboratively across teams and geographies.
What you need
- At least 2 years of audit experience in a chartered accountancy firm.
- Solid understanding of New Zealand accounting standards.
- A Bachelor of Commerce with a major in Accounting and Commercial Law.
- CAANZ full membership, or active progress toward it.
- Experience with Omnia and Levvia.
- Xero Advisor certification.
- Strong analytical and numerical ability, together with good Excel skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as within a team.
- Well-developed research and problem-solving capability.
