Role overview
This position focuses on providing specialized technical and accounting assistance related to beverage and concentrate manufacturing, including carbonated drinks and juices. The objective is to apply excise tax rules accurately by examining factory and supplier data and confirming that declared information matches actual operations.
Core responsibilities
- Examine product ingredients, manufacturing lines, and submitted financial records to check consistency.
- Verify that technical information, tax declarations, and excise tax computations are properly aligned.
- Study production formulas to determine raw material-to-finished product conversion ratios and connect them with accounting records.
- Carry out on-site inspections at beverage and concentrate manufacturing facilities to confirm real production activities against reported figures.
- Review production logs and stock records to establish taxable quantities.
- Draft detailed technical and accounting reports that support decision-making by the Authority.
- Spot any gaps, inconsistencies, or breaches between actual output and declared information.
- Work in coordination with tax audit teams and technical specialists to combine financial and operational findings.
- Liaise with the relevant government bodies to maintain accuracy in processes and compliance.
- Provide training to Authority staff on evaluating technical and financial information within the beverage sector.
- Prepare procedural guides that combine technical assessment with accounting analysis.
Qualifications and experience
- A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Chemical Engineering, or Food Science, supported by a strong accounting background.
- At least 8 years of professional experience in beverage and concentrate manufacturing, specifically in carbonated drinks and juices.
- Hands-on exposure to cost analysis, production analysis, and inventory review.
- Solid understanding of manufacturing processes, product specifications, accounting principles, and financial reporting.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze production formulas and relate them to cost accounts and tax compliance.
- Working knowledge of tax laws, especially excise tax, along with health and quality standards.
Skills and capabilities
The role calls for someone who can combine financial and technical information effectively, perform detailed audit-style analysis, communicate clearly in reports, and work accurately with accounting software, Excel, and data analysis tools.
