Role Overview
This position focuses on ensuring the accuracy and consistency of PCBA master data and manufacturing process information across enterprise systems such as SAP, Enovia, and MES. The engineer acts as a critical bridge between R&D and manufacturing, supporting data industrialization for bills of material, bills of labor, and production readiness across new product introductions, transferred PCBA programs, and ongoing product lifecycle changes.
Working within Eaton’s Dubai operations, the role supports manufacturing definition, process flow development, quality improvement, and continuous improvement efforts. It also contributes to digital manufacturing initiatives and cross-functional execution with design, logistics, quality, production, and industrialization teams.

Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the main connection point between R&D teams and manufacturing ERP/MES environments.
- Build and maintain BOM and BOL structures for new product introductions in SAP, including process routines.
- Assess and recommend replacement components to improve design robustness, supply continuity, and long-term maintainability.
- Manage engineering change notifications and support timely implementation of product changes.
- Apply risk-management practices to anticipate component obsolescence and reduce associated disruptions.
- Drive design-control activities that support cost reduction efforts.
- Take part in component data analysis and supplier quality-related failure investigations.
- Identify components on the production line when required.
- Work with cross-functional stakeholders to implement product and component modifications.
- Advise on part selection, design concepts, specification compliance, critical parts, and alternate sourcing options.
- Review component parameter details from datasheets to confirm quality and suitability.
- Create and maintain a shared component database for electrical, electronic, and indirect materials.
- Keep industrialization teams aligned with current R&D inputs such as BOMs, process flow, panel definition, test specifications, manufacturing requirements, and critical-to-quality characteristics.
- Support prototype manufacturing instructions and documentation for NPI and transferred PCBA programs.
- Assist the industrialization program manager with release of manufacturing deliverables such as process flow charts, PFMEA, and PPAP.
- Contribute to DFM reviews with R&D to influence PCB/PCBA design for manufacturability.
- Ensure ECO and MCO changes are implemented correctly and on time.
- Support Industry 4.0 efforts connected to equipment and process digitalization, including connectivity with Kepware, Ignition, MES, traceability, RTPPM, and SPC systems.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electronics or Industrial Engineering.
- At least 5 years of experience in PCBA manufacturing engineering.
- Strong working knowledge of soldering is an added advantage.
- Hands-on experience with component and product master data management in ERP and MES systems.
- Proven exposure to NPI and VAVE implementation in manufacturing information systems.
- Experience working on industrialization projects with R&D, process, supply chain, and production teams.
- Solid understanding of PCBA manufacturing processes and equipment, including SMT, wave, coating, testing, and packaging.
- Strong knowledge of ERP/MES configuration for PCBA NPI, transfers, and engineering changes.
- Knowledge of ESD safety practices and quality control methods.
- Good understanding of SMT and THT components, including material behavior, risks, and weaknesses.
- Clear communication skills, with the ability to explain technical topics in a structured and practical way.
- Strong documentation discipline and attention to detail.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with multiple plant stakeholders and R&D engineers while supporting continuous improvement.
