Role summary
The main purpose of this position is to keep every part of the pub clean to a high standard so customers enjoy a welcoming environment. The venue opens early and closes late, so shift patterns can include mornings, evenings, weekends and late finishes.
Duties
- Keep customer spaces, toilets, the bar, kitchen, staff areas and outdoor areas clean and tidy.
- Carry out daily, weekly and monthly cleaning tasks in line with operating procedures.
- Use cleaning products and equipment safely and correctly.
- Track stock levels of cleaning supplies and tell the manager when replenishment is needed.
- Report maintenance problems and pest-related concerns to the duty manager.
- Deal with customers courteously, including greeting them and saying thank you and goodbye.
- Take part in induction, job-specific and refresher training, and contribute to ongoing improvement.
Training and development
The company offers structured hands-on training, apprenticeships and management academies, along with cross-training opportunities across the bar, kitchen and hotel areas. There are also routes to progress into team leader, shift leader and higher-level roles.
