Role overview
The Camp Boss will take charge of the complete operation and administration of employee accommodation facilities, with responsibility for resident welfare, safety, and day-to-day comfort. This position covers camp management, housekeeping, catering, maintenance, security, transport coordination, and adherence to company procedures, health and safety rules, and labor accommodation requirements.
Camp operations and administration
- Run the daily activities of labor camps and staff housing facilities.
- Keep accommodation areas clean, secure, and hygienic at all times.
- Track occupancy, room assignments, and employee housing records.
- Manage employee move-in and move-out processes.
- Watch over camp resources and make sure facilities are used efficiently.
Accommodation management
- Assign rooms and housing space in line with company policy.
- Carry out routine inspections to confirm accommodation standards are being met.
- Respond to resident issues, concerns, and requests in a prompt and professional way.
- Ensure alignment with local labor accommodation laws and internal standards.
Catering and food services
- Oversee catering vendors and food service suppliers.
- Monitor meal quality, hygiene, and on-time delivery.
- Inspect kitchen and dining areas on a regular basis.
- Keep an eye on food stock levels and usage trends.
Housekeeping and maintenance
- Supervise cleaning activities and housekeeping staff.
- Work with facility teams to arrange maintenance and repair work.
- Make sure water, electricity, air conditioning, and sanitation systems remain fully functional.
- Set up preventive maintenance plans and review service performance.
Health, safety, and compliance
- Maintain compliance with HSE procedures, camp rules, and local authority expectations.
- Perform regular checks related to hygiene, health, and safety.
- Identify and escalate unsafe situations without delay.
- Assist with emergency planning and evacuation readiness.
Security and welfare
- Work with security staff to maintain order, discipline, and safety inside the camp.
- Ensure all residents observe camp policies and rules.
- Support employee welfare and handle accommodation-related concerns.
- Help organize employee engagement and recreation activities where relevant.
Transportation coordination
- Plan transport schedules between accommodation sites and work locations.
- Monitor vehicle usage and transport service partners.
- Support the timely and efficient movement of camp residents.
Reporting and documentation
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports on camp operations.
- Maintain records for inspections, maintenance, incidents, and complaints.
- Track camp expenses and assist with budget control.
- Coordinate with HR, Administration, Operations, and HSE teams on camp-related matters.
Qualifications and experience
- A diploma or bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Hospitality Management, Facilities Management, or a similar discipline is required.
- Applicants should have 5 to 8 years of experience in camp administration, facilities management, labor accommodation management, or a comparable role.
- Experience handling large labor camps is preferred, especially in construction, infrastructure, industrial, or oil and gas environments.
- Working knowledge of UAE labor accommodation standards and regulations is necessary.
- A strong grasp of camp operations, employee welfare, health and safety, and contractor oversight is expected.
