Business System Analyst I

Overview

Portfolio Aid Inc. is hiring a Business System Analyst I to support its work with leading wealth management firms across Canada. The role calls for someone who can assess how systems connect, explain end-to-end processes clearly, and document them in a structured way. The company’s broader mission is to help safeguard the financial freedom of Canadian investors.

Employment Details

This is a permanent, open, full-time position based at the Toronto head office in Ontario, with a Monday to Friday schedule during regular working hours. The role is hybrid.

The offered salary range is $50,000 to $70,000 per year.

Key Duties

• Interpret business questions and challenges, then use strategic thinking to break down and organize the information quickly.
• Partner with internal teams and outside stakeholders to gather and record detailed business requirements from project workflows across the full lifecycle.
• Represent the company professionally in client-facing interactions and recommend solutions that align with Portfolio Aid’s product framework.
• Collaborate with development, business analysis, and QA teams to make sure product design reflects business needs within technical capabilities.

Required Qualifications

• An undergraduate post-secondary degree, ideally in business, mathematics, engineering, or computer science.
• Prior experience in business or product roles, wealth management or compliance, and/or analytics or data science.
• Strong presentation skills for both internal and external audiences.
• Excellent spoken and written communication skills.
• Ability to analyze questions and issues strategically and draw conclusions quickly.
• Clear, concise communication combined with strong analytical ability.
• Comfort with data-led decision-making.
• Ability to evaluate system interactions and document complete workflow paths accurately.
• Experience using tools for data extraction, manipulation, and visualization is preferred.
• Working knowledge of SQL.
• Ability to stay effective in a fast-moving, changing environment.
• Capability to juggle multiple priorities and meet deadlines independently.
• Strong Excel skills.

Preferred Background

• Experience with regulatory compliance in the wealth management industry.
• Familiarity with Portfolio Aid’s product set.
• Working knowledge of brokerage platforms such as Dataphile, BPS, ISM, Univeris, and RPM.
• French fluency.
