Role overview
Thoughtworks is looking for a business development leader to drive growth in Singapore, with a strong focus on the healthcare, life sciences, and public sector space. This role is centered on creating new commercial opportunities, deepening relationships across client organizations, and expanding business within existing accounts.
The position calls for someone who can prospect strategically, craft compelling offers, and close complex consulting and software development deals. You will represent Thoughtworks to senior stakeholders, build trust with decision-makers, and help shape long-term, high-value partnerships.
What you will do
- Build and maintain relationships with business and technology leaders at target enterprise accounts through your network, outreach, partnerships, and other creative selling approaches.
- Follow up on opportunities sourced through professional contacts, events, and industry connections, and present the full range of Thoughtworks capabilities, including globally distributed delivery models.
- Sell product design, custom software, data, and managed services in a consultative way, with an emphasis on multi-year opportunities and deals above USD 10 million in total contract value.
- Own the sales story, coordinate complex deal pursuits, and handle negotiations for MSAs, SOWs, rate cards, and other commercial terms.
- Keep up with market shifts, technology developments, and industry direction so you can advise senior clients and connect their business goals to the right technology investments.
- Develop and manage a healthy pipeline that delivers at least 3x qualified opportunity coverage through direct selling, referrals, and partner channels to support revenue and margin targets.
- Work closely with delivery, solution architecture, and marketing teams to align offerings with client needs.
- Collaborate with ecosystem and alliance partners such as AWS, Microsoft, and Google Cloud to create joint selling opportunities.
What we are looking for
- More than 10 years of relevant experience with a strong hunter mindset and a track record in prospecting, opportunity shaping, relationship development, negotiation, and commercial strategy in digital transformation, custom application development, or managed services.
- Proven credibility in a specific industry vertical, with the ability to convert business pain points into measurable outcomes and solutions.
- Strong client orientation and the ability to guide customers toward successful business results.
- Experience selling high-value business solutions rather than commodity services or staff augmentation.
- Ability to manage complex sales processes, including RFPs, multi-party negotiations, and deal structuring, with evidence of closing enterprise deals above USD 10 million in technology consulting, cloud, AI, software development, or digital transformation.
- Confidence engaging C-level executives across both business and technology functions using a consultative approach.
- Solid understanding of technology trends, cloud platforms, AI, and agile ways of working.
- Entrepreneurial drive with a hands-on attitude and the ability to mobilize internal teams around strategic pursuits.
