About the Company

Dreem Health, backed by Sunrise, is a digital sleep clinic focused on making sleep care easier to access in the United States. The company replaces long waits and traditional lab-based sleep studies with at-home testing, telehealth consultations with specialists, and treatment plans tailored to each patient, so care can be delivered from home and on the patient’s schedule.

Role Overview

Dreem Health is hiring a Billing Support Coordinator to support patient billing, insurance operations, and revenue cycle tasks. This position plays an important part in the patient financial experience by helping ensure billing accuracy, compliance, and smooth communication between patients, insurance payers, and internal teams. The ideal candidate will have practical experience with insurance verification, benefit reviews, prior authorizations, and payer guidelines, along with an interest in improving processes and documentation as the organization grows.

What You'll Do

  • Be the main contact for patients with questions about billing, insurance coverage, invoices, and payments through phone, email, and other communication channels.
  • Explain benefit details, estimates, and patient responsibility in a way that is clear, considerate, and easy to understand.
  • Handle escalated or complex billing concerns with a patient-first approach.
  • Complete and support insurance verification, eligibility checks, and benefit reviews for sleep-related services.
  • Assist with tracking prior authorizations, following up on documentation, and managing payer-specific requirements.
  • Help with insurance claim submission by making sure patient, payer, and service information is accurate.
  • Spot payer mismatches, claim denials, or coverage conflicts and escalate them when needed.
  • Process patient payments and help set up payment plans when appropriate.
  • Create, monitor, and reconcile invoices while working with finance and operations teams.
  • Keep billing and insurance records accurate across internal systems such as CRM and billing tools.
  • Partner with billing, clinical, operations, and patient services teams to align insurance workflows with patient onboarding.
  • Serve as a point of coordination between internal teams and payer representatives when clarification is needed on coverage or authorization rules.
  • Help write, update, and refine SOPs related to billing, insurance verification, and prior authorization processes.
  • Identify recurring issues, workflow bottlenecks, and patient pain points, then suggest practical improvements.
  • Support quality checks to help maintain compliance with payer requirements and internal standards.

Qualifications

  • Background in medical billing, insurance operations, revenue cycle management, or patient financial services, ideally in healthcare.
  • Practical experience with insurance verification, benefit interpretation, and prior authorization workflows.
  • Experience dealing with Medicare and commercial insurers is a plus.
  • Exposure to DME, sleep medicine, or diagnostic services would be advantageous.
  • Strong written and spoken communication skills with the ability to explain billing and insurance topics clearly and compassionately.
  • High attention to detail, solid organization, and dependable follow-through in a busy, fast-moving environment.
  • A patient-centered, solution-focused approach when managing sensitive financial discussions and complex insurance issues.
  • Ability to work independently while also collaborating well across teams to solve issues and improve the patient experience.
  • Process-minded with experience interpreting payer policies, improving workflows, documenting procedures, and supporting operational enhancements.

Benefits and Perks

  • Opportunity to work with an international team across the US, Paris, Belgium, and Vienna.
  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage.
  • 401(k) plan with company match.
  • 20 days of PTO, 10 paid holidays, and sick leave.
  • Free One Medical membership.
  • Internet stipend.
