Job Summary
In this role, you will support the Safety Manager in maintaining compliance with safety, health, environmental, and welfare standards across project sites. The position involves carrying out routine inspections, reviewing risks, investigating incidents, and coordinating with relevant stakeholders to maintain a safe and compliant workplace.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Safety Manager in handling safety, health, environmental, and welfare matters so the project meets statutory requirements and aerodrome safety rules.
- Put safety, health, and environmental controls into practice and monitor them so all work activities follow approved methods and instructions.
- Liaise with stakeholders, authorities, agencies, and consultants to assist with day-to-day safety management efforts.
- Draft and send daily situation reports to monitor safety performance and report incidents.
- Carry out risk assessments and ensure safe work practices are followed on site to reduce hazards.
- Perform daily inspections related to health, safety, and environmental conditions, document observations, and work with the Project Safety Team and contractors to resolve issues.
- Investigate accidents and near-miss cases, complete the required documentation accurately, and propose corrective measures.
- Use the required personal protective equipment and follow all safety procedures and site rules.
- Apply safety controls in line with the Workplace Health and Safety Act and the Safety Management System framework.
- Spot training and certification requirements to help maintain compliance with legislation, Approved Codes of Practice, and H.S.E. guidance.
Required Experience and Certifications
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in Workplace Safety and Health, including supervision of major building construction projects.
- Current MOM registration as a Workplace Safety and Health Officer, with at least 3 years of active practice in that role.
Preferred Background
- Prior work on cut and cover tunnels, deep excavation, foundation, and ground improvement projects is preferred, with about 3 years' experience gained through a developer or main contractor.
- Exposure to airside operations and the associated safety standards will be an advantage.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team are important.
