About the Role

This is a hands-on retail security role that calls for strong awareness, sound judgment, and the ability to act quickly and professionally. You will help reduce theft and fraud while supporting a secure, welcoming shopping environment.
Key Duties
- Maintain a visible, professional presence in the store to discourage theft, fraud, and policy breaches.
- Take lawful and safe action to detain offenders in line with company procedures and applicable laws.
- Carry out internal and external investigations, collect evidence, and assess findings carefully.
- Work with law enforcement when situations require outside support.
- Collaborate with store leaders to spot shrink patterns and apply practical loss-prevention measures.
- Help ensure day-to-day compliance with company security standards and provincial rules.
- Adapt to changing priorities in a fast-moving retail setting and work flexible schedules when needed.
What You’ll Need
- A valid provincial security guard licence.
- Working knowledge of the Criminal Code of Canada, Trespass to Property Act, and related legislation.
- Experience using CCTV, surveillance systems, and Microsoft Office tools such as Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Strong communication skills and a professional manner that is approachable, confident, and respectful.
- A dependable, accountable, and proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Retail background in grocery, pharmacy, or another high-volume environment is considered an advantage.
