Asset Protection Representative

About the Role

This is a hands-on retail security role that calls for strong awareness, sound judgment, and the ability to act quickly and professionally. You will help reduce theft and fraud while supporting a secure, welcoming shopping environment.

Key Duties

• Maintain a visible, professional presence in the store to discourage theft, fraud, and policy breaches.
• Take lawful and safe action to detain offenders in line with company procedures and applicable laws.
• Carry out internal and external investigations, collect evidence, and assess findings carefully.
• Work with law enforcement when situations require outside support.
• Collaborate with store leaders to spot shrink patterns and apply practical loss-prevention measures.
• Help ensure day-to-day compliance with company security standards and provincial rules.
• Adapt to changing priorities in a fast-moving retail setting and work flexible schedules when needed.

What You’ll Need

• A valid provincial security guard licence.
• Working knowledge of the Criminal Code of Canada, Trespass to Property Act, and related legislation.
• Experience using CCTV, surveillance systems, and Microsoft Office tools such as Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Strong communication skills and a professional manner that is approachable, confident, and respectful.
• A dependable, accountable, and proactive approach to problem-solving.
• Retail background in grocery, pharmacy, or another high-volume environment is considered an advantage.
