Arborist

The opportunity

This role is for an Arborist focused on reactive and planned vegetation works supporting Auckland’s water infrastructure. It is a hands-on field position with meaningful responsibility, balancing vegetation management, safety, compliance, and service restoration.

In this position, you will assess and classify vegetation-related jobs, build work plans, and make sure all activities align with resource consent conditions and the Tree Management Plan. You will also handle reactive network faults and customer-initiated requests, arrange specialist contractors when needed, and oversee reinstatement work so it is completed safely and to a high standard.

The job also includes supporting incident and emergency response activities, helping to get services back up quickly while keeping a strong focus on safe working practices, compliance requirements, and positive customer outcomes.
