Role overview

As an AI Software Engineer, you will develop the software that brings autonomy to life on the factory floor. You will work directly inside customer production environments, including leading manufacturers such as BMW, Audi, BSH, Stellantis, Still, and TDK Electronics, where the Kosmos platform is applied to real-world manufacturing challenges. Your job is to convert difficult customer problems into practical, AI- and data-powered software solutions that work in high-stakes operational processes.

A major part of the role is hands-on building: creating AI-based applications, designing the surrounding integration architecture, and delivering solutions that have visible business impact. Over time, you will also become a trusted technical point of contact for customers.

Responsibilities

• Own software development and AI application work within customer projects
• Investigate issues, document findings, and co-develop solutions together with senior engineers while supporting product improvement
• Assist with integrating the platform into customer IT environments
• Build understanding of how factory operations, IT systems, and AI products connect
• Convert customer needs into clear technical approaches and implementation specifications

Requirements

• A degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a closely related field
• 0 to 4 years of professional experience, including internships, in software engineering or a related area
• Practical exposure through projects, startup ventures, or product-building experience
• Strong curiosity about manufacturing, factory operations, emerging technologies, and product development
• Professional fluency in both German and English
• Location in Munich or willingness to relocate there
