Yard Operative

Role overview

Copart is hiring Yard Operatives for its Sandtoft Operation Centre in DN8 5SX. This is an outdoor, hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working with vehicles and contributing to the smooth running of a busy operational site.

Working pattern and pay

This position runs Monday to Friday, with no working on bank holidays, supporting a strong work-life balance. The salary is £27,976 per year.

What you will do

As part of the yard team, you will help keep vehicles stored, maintained and handled in line with customer and company expectations. You will also respond quickly to customer requests, complete service orders within deadlines, and use a handheld device to capture vehicle images.

Skills and experience needed

The role calls for someone with a full driving licence, practical experience operating plant and forklift loaders/shovels, and the confidence to use handheld devices and basic IT tools. Strong customer service ability, clear written and spoken communication, solid attention to detail, and the ability to handle several tasks in a busy environment are also important. You should be comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
