Role overview
A Class Building Materials is seeking a seasoned Warehouse Manager to take charge of the Ravenhall site. This is a practical leadership position for someone with hands-on warehouse experience who can keep operations running efficiently while motivating the team.
What you will do
You will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the warehouse, covering everything from inbound receiving to outbound dispatch. The role combines operational oversight with active floor involvement, with a strong focus on safety, productivity, and team culture.
Leadership and operations
- Direct the full warehouse workflow, including receiving, picking, packing, and dispatch.
- Run daily start-up meetings, shift transitions, and operational updates.
- Coach team members and support their development to improve engagement and output.
- Track KPIs, productivity levels, and workflow patterns to identify and clear delays.
- Handle urgent operational issues such as delays, equipment problems, and changing priorities.
- Ensure all activities meet WHS requirements, Chain of Responsibility obligations, and site rules.
- Oversee the storage and handling of dangerous goods in line with compliance requirements.
Warehouse floor duties
- Work alongside the warehouse team as needed to support daily operations.
- Accurately pick, pack, and dispatch customer orders within required timeframes.
- Load and unload inbound and outbound freight safely and efficiently.
Inventory and documentation
- Keep stock records accurate and ensure ERP transactions are completed promptly.
- Investigate stock variances and resolve inventory mismatches.
- Prepare packing slips and shipping paperwork.
Customer service and communication
- Maintain a customer-first approach across all warehouse processes.
- Coordinate closely with Sales, Customer Service, and Operations teams to meet client expectations.
- Provide proactive updates on stock levels, order urgency, and operational challenges.
Additional responsibilities
- Plan rosters and staffing to keep daily operations running smoothly.
- Monitor labour expenditure and manage overtime usage.
- Lead safety checks and assist with incident reports and corrective actions.
- Support training and development for warehouse staff.
- Help plan operations during busy seasonal peak periods.
