Role Overview

This is a full-time, on-site position in Wānaka for a Solar Installer. You will be involved in assembling, fitting, and maintaining rooftop and ground-mounted solar systems, including panels, mounting structures, batteries, and related wiring. The job includes interpreting plans and drawings, marking out array positions, using hand and power tools safely, and carrying out work at height on residential and commercial properties. You will also support commissioning, carry out basic fault-finding and routine upkeep, and record completed work while escalating any concerns. The role requires regular interaction with customers and teammates on site, with a strong emphasis on safe methods, neat work areas, and installations that meet company and compliance standards.

Responsibilities

• Build, install, and service rooftop and ground-mounted solar energy systems.
• Fit solar panels, racking, batteries, and associated electrical wiring.
• Interpret technical drawings and plans, then set out array locations accurately.
• Use hand and power tools responsibly and in line with safety requirements.
• Carry out work at height on residential and commercial sites.
• Support system commissioning and assist with basic troubleshooting.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks on installed systems.
• Keep clear records of completed work and report any issues identified on site.
• Work closely with customers and team members while maintaining a safe and tidy workspace.

Requirements
