Security Analyst I

Overview

This is a Security Analyst I opportunity with a partner employer in the United States. The hiring process, application review, and next steps are handled directly by that partner company. The role is part of a expanding cloud and security engineering function dedicated to improving protection for critical internal and external systems.

In this remote-first position, you will help detect, investigate, and respond to security threats across a complex digital environment. The work blends practical technical analysis with proactive risk reduction, and it supports stronger incident response, vulnerability management, and security practices across the organization. This role is well suited to a security professional who enjoys fast-moving environments, ongoing learning, and collaboration with IT and engineering teams.

Key Accountabilities

• Keep a close watch on systems to identify, investigate, and respond to possible security incidents and suspicious behavior across enterprise environments.
• Spot weaknesses in systems and assist with remediation efforts to lower overall risk.
• Help build, refine, and maintain incident response plans, playbooks, and related security procedures.
• Carry out security reviews, vulnerability analysis, and risk assessments to support sound decision-making.
• Prepare detailed reporting on security incidents, attack trends, and security performance indicators.
• Support audits and work with internal and external stakeholders to help maintain compliance and control effectiveness.
• Provide guidance to both technical and leadership audiences on practical security improvements and best practices.
• Stay current on emerging threats, security trends, and defensive methods.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in cybersecurity or security operations, including exposure to security policy creation and enforcement.
• Solid understanding of security frameworks, compliance requirements, and standard industry practices.
• Practical experience with vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, or security risk analysis.
• Prior work with Microsoft Defender and/or cloud security environments is strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with SIEM platforms such as Azure Sentinel or similar tools.
• Ability to script and automate using PowerShell and KQL, preferably.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical risk in clear terms.
• Good research, organization, and problem-solving skills, along with a self-directed and proactive approach.
• Experience in a SOC or collaborative security team is an added advantage.
• CISSP certification is considered a plus.

Compensation is market-aligned and tied to experience, with an approximate range of USD 70,276 to USD 116,942 per year.
