Kitchen Assistant - Ferbane

Role overview

Windmill Healthcare is hiring a Kitchen Assistant for Ferbane Care Centre in Ferbane, County Offaly. The role reports to the Head Chef and the Director of Nursing / Person in Charge.

Key duties

• Support the preparation and serving of meals and drinks for residents, visitors, and staff while maintaining the organisation’s standards for hygiene and cost control.
• Set up residents’ meal trays and dining spaces, making sure the right utensils, equipment, and food items are ready in the correct amounts and on time.
• Clean and sanitise the kitchen, dining areas, and catering equipment using the cleaning methods and tools assigned by the Chef.
• Help residents with menu selection so they have as much choice as possible.
• Follow hygiene, health and safety, HACCP, and COSHH procedures at all times and comply with all legal requirements.
• Assist with documentation and other records as requested by the Chef.
• Take on additional tasks as assigned by the Line Manager.

Skills and experience

The ideal candidate should communicate well, be fluent in spoken and written English, and work effectively as part of a team. A minimum of 1 year of kitchen or catering experience is desirable.
