Role overview
This opportunity is with a national public sector regulator focused on safety, security, and consumer protection in its field. The HR team is hiring an HR Officer to support HR Management and collaborate with the wider People function. The position blends HR data, reporting, and systems work with general HR officer responsibilities.
Work arrangement
The role is based in Dublin city centre and follows a hybrid pattern with 2 days on site.
Compensation and benefits
The salary range is €45,000 to €55,000, depending on experience. What the role involves
This position sits in the HR division and reports into HR Management. It may also require stepping in to support senior HR duties when needed. The successful candidate will divide their time between data/reporting work and standard HR delivery, helping shape how people data is used across the organisation.
Key responsibilities
- Support and coordinate HR projects, ensuring key initiatives and system improvements stay on schedule
- Keep HR data accurate, current, and usable across people and business projects
- Prepare HR information for planning work, audits, and reporting needs
- Create, interpret, and present HR reports, dashboards, and workforce metrics for management use
- Partner with project managers, finance teams, and other stakeholders to share workforce insights
- Develop and run HR surveys, then summarise and present the findings
- Maintain orderly HR records and personnel files
- Assist with recruitment from start to finish, including paperwork, shortlisting, interviews, contracts, onboarding, and exits
- Research, draft, update, and communicate HR policies and procedures
- Support wider strategic HR programmes and initiatives
- Process compensation and benefits administration
- Help organise staff events, internal communications, and intranet updates
- Manage HR-related procurement tasks such as invoices, purchase orders, and budget tracking
- Train employees on HR systems and processes
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of experience in an HR role with exposure to HR projects, systems, or reporting
- HR certificate or equivalent relevant practical experience
- Experience across core HR areas including recruitment, learning and development, policy work, performance management, and related administration
- Practical use of an HR information system such as CoreHR or PeopleXD
- Experience preparing HR data for planning, audit, and reporting purposes
- Ability to build and analyse HR reports, dashboards, and metrics
- Experience working with several stakeholders on workforce data and insights
- Strong IT proficiency, especially with Office 365 tools such as SharePoint, Teams, Word, PowerPoint, PowerBI, and Outlook
- Good understanding of Irish employment law
- Strong writing, editing, and proofreading abilities for HR documents and communications
- Well-developed organisational skills and the ability to juggle multiple priorities
- Preferred: third-level qualification in HR or a related discipline
- Preferred: membership of a professional HR organisation such as CIPD
- Preferred: strong Excel or PowerBI capability, or experience using other analytics tools
- Preferred: background in data-led HR projects or HR systems work
- Preferred: experience supporting HR initiatives during organisational change
Additional information
The organisation has a structured HR function led by a Chief People Officer, with people strategy and reporting being an important current focus. There is room in the role to help refine how HR data and reporting support decision-making across the business.
