The organization’s goal is to lead the energy efficiency sector and support a more sustainable future by developing, financing, and managing high-impact efficiency initiatives across government and commercial sectors that deliver meaningful energy savings for the Kingdom.
Role overview
This position is accountable for the operational oversight, performance tracking, and maintenance coordination of Tarshid’s solar PV portfolio during the operations and maintenance stage after project handover. The focus is on making sure each solar asset delivers the expected generation and operational performance through continuous monitoring, technical review, coordination with ESCOs and contractors, and prompt resolution of issues that reduce system efficiency.
Key responsibilities
- Track solar generation results against guaranteed and expected performance levels.
- Examine performance trends to spot output deviations or unusual operating behavior.
- Work with ESCOs and contractors to assess and close technical issues affecting generation.
- Review operational logs, alarms, and monitoring dashboards to maintain reliability and availability.
- Contribute to technical assessments of solar modifications, upgrades, and efficiency improvements.
- Oversee O&M follow-up for both individual assets and aggregated solar portfolios.
- Take part in the technical review of handover files, warranties, performance commitments, and as-built records.
Qualifications and experience
- A bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, energy engineering, renewable energy engineering, or a closely related field is required.
- Professional training or certifications in solar PV, renewable energy, PMP, NABCEP, or an equivalent solar credential are preferred; PVsyst training is an added advantage.
- At least 5 to 7 years of experience in solar PV systems, renewable energy operations, or solar asset performance management is expected.
- Professional English is required, and Arabic fluency is mandatory.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment.
- Good understanding of solar PV design, installation, operations, and maintenance.
- Knowledge of solar components such as PV modules, inverters, mounting structures, cabling, monitoring systems, and protection systems.
- Familiarity with performance analysis, degradation concepts, and methods for improving generation.
- Awareness of solar technology trends, panel efficiency ratings, inverter technologies, and renewable energy market developments.
- Experience with monitoring platforms, SCADA systems, IoT-based monitoring, and energy analytics tools.
- Ability to diagnose shortfalls in generation, technical anomalies, and other operational issues affecting performance.
- Understanding of contractual performance guarantees, generation targets, and O&M service obligations.
- Knowledge of aggregated portfolio performance for bundled solar programs is important.
