Role overview
As a Direct Support Professional, you will support people in day-to-day living, encourage progress toward personal goals, and help create meaningful community involvement. The position centers on compassionate care, relationship-building, and practical assistance for participants with developmental needs and behavioral or complex support requirements.
What you will do
- Provide hands-on support that helps participants grow, learn, and maintain a good quality of life.
- Build trusted, meaningful connections with the individuals you support.
- Use sound judgment and initiative while working with guidance from leadership.
- Help participants take part in community activities and preferred pastimes.
- Assist with developmental goals such as budgeting, physical activity, and nutrition.
- Support personal hygiene and daily living needs.
- Work with individuals who may have behavioral challenges and other complex needs.
What Sevita is looking for
- A high school diploma or an equivalent credential.
- At least six months of experience in human services, direct care, or care coordination is preferred.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to adjust to changing situations.
- Comfort with juggling multiple tasks while working well with others.
- Good time management and dependable follow-through.
- A patient, compassionate, reliable, and responsible approach.
- A valid driver's license plus access to a registered vehicle with proof of insurance.
