About the Studio
Turner Fleischer is a leading Canadian design practice with more than 250 creative professionals. The firm focuses on client-driven concepts shaped by 50 years of experience delivering built projects. Its in-house teams span Architecture, Interior Design, and Experiential Graphic Design, while the Digital Practice group supports BIM implementation, research and development, and the use of advanced technology across projects.
Role Overview
The studio is looking for a Designer with strong visual communication abilities to help project teams produce work that is both practical and visually strong. In this role, you will use creativity and problem-solving to support solutions for complex design challenges. With guidance from experienced team members, you will contribute to schematic design, design development, and documentation for commercial and residential-mixed use projects. This is for an existing opening.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with the design team to develop concepts and detailed plans that align with project needs and design intent.
- Review information from external stakeholders and incorporate relevant details into project deliverables as directed.
- Collect required materials and complete research requested by the Project Manager to support project progress and informed design decisions.
- Stay current on building code updates, by-laws, and regulatory changes so design work remains compliant with the latest requirements.
- Refine drawings and designs using markups and feedback, with an emphasis on accuracy, improvement, and project success.
Requirements
- Completion of a degree or diploma from an accredited architecture program.
- Recent graduate or approximately 1 year of experience in an architecture firm.
- Hands-on experience with Revit, SketchUp, Rhino, or Twinmotion.
- Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite.
- Understanding of applicable building codes, municipal by-laws, and the municipal approval process.
- Strong communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Comfort working in a hybrid arrangement, including 2 days in the studio.
Compensation and Benefits
The anticipated gross base pay for this role is CAD 60,000 to CAD 70,000 per year, with final pay based on experience, skills, and internal equity.
