Role overview
Compass Medical Waste Services is looking for a motivated professional with strong attention to detail to take on a combined Data Analyst and Route Planner position. This role brings together reporting, analysis, and day-to-day transport planning to support the distribution team.
Data analyst responsibilities
- Gather, review, and interpret information to help guide business decisions.
- Convert raw inputs into practical insights that improve performance.
- Spot trends, recurring patterns, and exceptions that can increase operational efficiency.
- Create concise and useful reports for management.
Route planning responsibilities
- Design, organise, and coordinate daily transport schedules and routes.
- Make sure services are delivered efficiently, on time, and in a cost-conscious manner.
- Use mapping and routing tools to improve route efficiency.
- Assign vehicles and drivers according to operational requirements.
- Track route results and identify ways to improve performance.
- Liaise with drivers, supervisors, and customers to address and resolve issues.
Minimum requirements
- At least 2 years of experience in administration, route planning, or a data analyst role.
- Good computer skills.
- Working knowledge of maps and geographic systems.
- Understanding of tracking systems.
- Familiarity with route planning software or applications.
- Ability to stay effective in a busy, high-pressure environment.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving ability.
- Quick to learn and able to approach problems creatively.
- Strong verbal and written communication, plus solid organisational ability.
