About Thryv
Thryv has spent more than 125 years helping local businesses stay competitive and succeed. What began as print directories has grown into a modern suite of digital marketing, automation, and SaaS solutions that help small and medium businesses save time, improve communication, and receive payments faster.
The company focuses on more than software sales. It offers business owners greater confidence, growth, and time back in their day so they can concentrate on the work they do best. Thryv’s culture centers on passion, accountability, and community, with a strong emphasis on ownership, doing the right thing, and making a positive difference for clients and employees.
Role overview
Thryv is looking for a self-driven and motivated Business Advisor for its Thryv SaaS field sales team across Australia and New Zealand. This is a hands-on, field-based position rather than an office desk role. The successful candidate will spend most of the day in the market, using door-to-door outreach, cold calling, networking, and direct meetings with business owners to introduce the Thryv platform, an award-winning all-in-one SaaS product designed to help SMBs save time, communicate more effectively, and get paid faster.
The ideal person will be energized by building a pipeline from scratch, staying persistent through setbacks, and using strong people skills to turn first-time conversations into long-term client relationships.
Key responsibilities
- Reach out daily through prospecting and cold calling to create new sales opportunities.
- Build the sales pipeline through door-to-door visits and local networking.
- Meet business owners in person and present solutions tailored to their needs using the Thryv SaaS platform.
- Handle the complete sales journey, from the first interaction through to closing and handover for onboarding.
- Hit and surpass monthly targets for new business acquisition.
- Take ownership of a territory by planning each day with structure and discipline.
- Keep pipeline information accurate and provide reporting updates to the Account Director.
- Remain up to date on Thryv product changes, the competitive market, and SMB trends.
What you bring
- A strong background as a hunter in sales, with enthusiasm for finding and closing new business.
- Solid B2B sales experience, preferably in SaaS, technology, or field sales.
- High resilience and persistence, with the ability to recover quickly from rejection.
- Confidence in cold calling and door-to-door prospecting.
- A consultative approach that starts with listening and then matching solutions to business needs.
- Ability to work independently and stay self-motivated in a field-based role.
- Excellent organization and discipline for managing a territory, pipeline, and daily schedule.
- Comfort with technology and presenting SaaS platforms to business owners.
Why this role stands out
- Unlimited commission potential, where your performance directly shapes your earnings.
- Flexibility and autonomy to manage your territory and work from home when not on the road.
- The chance to help real businesses solve practical challenges with tools that deliver results.
- Clear career progression for those who achieve strong results and show ambition.
- A supportive culture that values wins, shared progress, and team growth.
- Ongoing coaching, training, and mentoring from the very beginning.
Location and start date
