Utility Engineer

Role Overview

This position is based in Doha, Qatar, and focuses on the end-to-end performance of water metering systems. The role involves keeping meters and related equipment accurate, dependable, and compliant with technical and quality expectations.

Core Duties

• Manage the operation, upkeep, testing, calibration, replacement, and performance tracking of different water meter systems so readings remain dependable and precise.
• Investigate faults in meters, meter accessories, communication equipment, and connected systems, then implement effective fixes to restore stable operation.
• Observe meter installation, replacement, upgrades, commissioning, and maintenance work to make sure it aligns with quality standards, schedules, and technical specifications.
• Study meter performance information, spot patterns or issues, and prepare technical summaries that include observations, recommendations, and corrective steps.
• Contribute to improvement efforts aimed at strengthening metering technology, measurement accuracy, asset reliability, and day-to-day efficiency.
• Create, apply, and track preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance plans to extend the life and performance of water metering assets.
• Carry out inspections, site checks, testing, and verification of meter installations to confirm compliance with approved designs and contract requirements.
• Advise on water metering systems, equipment choices, technology assessment, and industry practices to support engineering and operational work.
• Take on additional tasks assigned by the supervisor or management in support of team and business goals.
