Role Overview
The Studio Director will take ownership of the Studio’s daily operations, client experience, and sales outcomes. This position functions like an entrepreneurial retail partner to leadership, combining store management, client development, communication, and business growth responsibilities.
This is a highly hands-on role suited to someone adaptable, resourceful, and comfortable in a fast-paced, evolving environment. The right person will bring strong operational judgment, a high standard of client service, and the ability to create structure while protecting the brand’s culture.
The Studio Director will be responsible for sales performance, clienteling strategy, operational oversight, direct report management, and team development. The role also represents the brand within the Studio and across the wider New York luxury network.
Studio Operations and Management
- Manage the Studio’s everyday operations so the client experience remains polished, efficient, and seamless.
- Work closely with leadership on business priorities, operational improvements, sales opportunities, and broader growth plans.
- Handle scheduling, appointments, client traffic, operational planning, and communication across teams.
- Build and maintain processes that improve efficiency while preserving the brand’s personal, high-touch service style.
- Oversee inventory levels and inventory workflows, coordinating with merchandising, fulfillment, and operational systems for replenishment, product movement, transfers, RTVs, fulfillment support, and inventory accuracy.
- Ensure the Studio environment, presentation, hospitality, and overall experience consistently align with the brand.
Client Development and Sales
- Lead Studio sales performance and execute strategies that support client development and retention.
- Develop strong relationships with key clients, stylists, personal shoppers, and industry partners.
- Use client data to create targeted outreach plans, including segmentation, retention, reactivation, and personalized communications.
- Review sales and client performance metrics to identify opportunities for growth, more appointments, repeat purchasing, and long-term relationships.
- Manage appointment preparation, follow-up, tailored service initiatives, and ongoing relationship building.
- Spot opportunities to increase repeat business, reconnect with inactive clients, and strengthen loyalty through thoughtful outreach and follow-through.
- Represent the brand directly in client-facing moments both in the Studio and during travel when required.
- Support a strong sales culture with leadership through accountability and ownership of Studio results.
Business Development and Community
- Find opportunities for community engagement and partnerships that fit the brand’s positioning and values.
- Expand Attersee’s visibility within the luxury and creative communities through personalized outreach.
- Develop relationships with hotels, restaurants, membership clubs, stylists, and other complementary luxury businesses to support awareness, traffic, and client acquisition.
- Represent the brand externally through networking, events, partnerships, and relationship-building across New York.
Communication and Cross-Functional Partnership
- Act as the main communication link between the Studio, leadership, merchandising, operations, fulfillment, and outside partners.
- Coordinate product arrivals, client requests, inventory updates, special orders, and Studio priorities smoothly across teams.
- Partner with merchandising and operations to advance business priorities and maintain strong organizational flow.
- Create systems and structure that help the Studio scale without losing intimacy, service quality, or community feel.
Team Leadership
- Directly manage the Coordinator, including daily guidance, prioritization, and support.
- Encourage a collaborative, practical, detail-oriented Studio culture.
- Lead with ownership, accountability, professionalism, and an entrepreneurial approach across the business.
- Contribute to the ongoing development and evolution of the Studio and the wider retail network by bringing adaptability and creativity to changing needs and new initiatives.
What You Bring
- Deep understanding of luxury client service, client development, and relationship building.
- Strong organizational and analytical abilities, with the capacity to use client and sales data to shape outreach, retention, and growth strategies.
- Well-developed operational instincts and the ability to juggle several priorities at once.
- An entrepreneurial mindset and comfort working in a lean, fast-moving environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail.
- Willingness and ability to travel, work evenings and weekends, and attend events as needed.
- Genuine interest in luxury fashion, service, and brand building.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Experience with Shopify or a similar CRM, POS, or retail operating platform is preferred.
- At least 5 years of experience in luxury retail in a leadership capacity.
Additional Information
This role is based in New York, NY and is an onsite position. The schedule may include evenings, weekends, events, and occasional travel based on business needs.
