Role overview
Join the marketing team in a creative role focused on social-first storytelling, content production, and influencer engagement. This position combines hands-on content creation with social media planning, platform management, and campaign support. You will help shape how artists connect with audiences in Australia and internationally.
Content strategy and production
- Create, capture, and curate compelling content across formats such as video, simple motion graphics like lyric or title overlays, infographics, images, and social posts.
- Develop fresh content ideas that align with audience interests and business goals.
- Support the full production workflow, including scripting, filming, editing, and post-production.
- For larger projects, work with external creatives such as photographers, videographers, and editors by preparing briefs and coordinating shoots.
- Plan and deliver content capture for touring artists and live events.
- Shape content plans for artists’ social channels.
Social media and owned channels
- Run Sony Music’s local social accounts across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and X/Twitter.
- Maintain the company website so it stays current and engaging.
- Design and roll out social content plans that support wider campaign objectives.
- Build and manage a content calendar to schedule releases effectively.
- Track engagement and content performance, then share learnings with the team.
- Partner with marketing teams and stakeholders across the business to align social and content direction with artist and brand goals.
- Work closely with artists, managers, brands, and internal teams to create digital stories that strengthen artist identity, fan loyalty, and community across platforms such as TikTok, Snapchat, YouTube, Meta, Discord, and other emerging channels.
- Develop content approaches that reflect each artist’s or brand’s visual identity, along with commissioned artwork and video/photo creative for campaigns.
- Create strategies that support first-party audience growth and deepen fan engagement in inventive ways.
Platform optimisation
- Optimise content for search and algorithm performance to increase visibility and organic reach.
- Keep up with platform changes, emerging technologies, algorithm updates, and creator tools, and help the broader label understand how to apply them in artist campaigns.
- Stay informed on music and pop culture trends so creative output remains timely and relevant.
- Carry out content and social media audits, plus competitor reviews, to uncover improvement opportunities.
Influencer marketing
- Identify and connect with influencers and creators who can support campaigns.
- Develop strong relationships within the influencer community.
- Keep creators informed about new releases and help foster an active collaborative network.
Ongoing learning
- Stay current with new social trends, digital marketing methods, and wider industry developments.
- Test new content formats and channels to improve performance and effectiveness.
What we're looking for
- Prior experience delivering creative content services within the music or entertainment sector.
- Advanced ability with content creation tools and in-app editing features on platforms such as TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and Instagram Reels.
- Strong grasp of fan behaviour, online culture, and artist-to-brand storytelling.
- Deep understanding of best practices across social networks and how content should be adapted for different audiences and platforms.
- Strong attention to detail and advanced skills in graphic design and editing software, including Adobe Creative Cloud.
- Ability to manage the full content creation workflow from concept to delivery.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong interest in staying informed about social media innovation and trends.
- Passion for music and artists.
