The role centers on managing client relationships, using media and analytical expertise to guide campaign strategy, and identifying ways to expand value and revenue for customers. Success in this role depends on strong collaboration, client partnership, and the ability to manage several accounts, campaigns, and projects at once.
What you'll do
- Develop strong client relationships and build a detailed understanding of each customer’s business goals to deliver high-quality engagement.
- Review and improve advertising campaigns and marketing initiatives proactively, then recommend strategies that help clients achieve their objectives.
- Advise customers on targeting, campaign setup, optimization, and reporting, and provide training where needed.
- Support customer onboarding and ongoing education so clients have a strong experience from the start and throughout the partnership.
- Improve campaign performance and grow revenue from newer advertisers through proactive optimization and upselling.
- Use technology and data-driven tools to deliver performance-focused marketing solutions.
- Guide creative and content development using marketing expertise to improve campaign delivery and results.
- Partner with sales, marketing, finance, technical support, product, product marketing, and insights teams to solve issues and ensure smooth execution.
- Bring customer feedback to product teams to help shape campaign management tools and better meet client needs.
- Work with the Account Executive to build and execute a strategic plan for the assigned book of business.
- Use data, insights, and ROI analysis to explain advertising value and recommend optimizations and additional investment opportunities.
- Share ideas, best practices, and new approaches with teammates and leadership to encourage ongoing innovation.
- Continue learning and growing as a sales professional while contributing positively to the team.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
- At least 5 years of experience in advertising sales, media buying and planning, or similar consulting work.
- 3 or more years of experience managing and optimizing auction-based or programmatic campaigns, such as social, Google Ads, or ad exchange/trading desk environments.
- Background in advertising sales and media account management is preferred.
- Understanding of startup go-to-market challenges and growth metrics is preferred.
- Strong analytical capability, including experience with statistical analysis, ROI modeling, and advertising or media analytics.
- Ability to think strategically and provide consultative, data-backed recommendations.
- Working knowledge of advertising technology and marketing automation.
- Good time-management skills with the ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines with limited supervision.
- Comfort working both independently and across multiple teams.
Compensation and benefits
The target compensation range for this role is $145,000 to $222,000 in annual on-target earnings. Final compensation may vary depending on skill set, experience, certifications, and work location.
The overall package may also include an annual performance bonus, stock, benefits, and other incentive compensation plans.
