Security Technician

About the Role

This position focuses on installing, servicing, and supporting sophisticated electronic security and access control systems in large enterprise settings. The technician will need practical, hands-on expertise with access control platforms such as Lenel, Honeywell, CCURE, and Vanderbilt, together with a strong grasp of how integrated security environments operate.

The work combines site-based field service with technical support duties, with the goal of keeping systems reliable, secure, and aligned with client expectations.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up, configure, and bring enterprise-grade access control solutions into operation.
• Carry out regular upkeep, fault finding, and repair work on security equipment and systems.
• Work with systems built on Lenel, Honeywell, CCURE, and Vanderbilt platforms.
• Apply software patches, firmware updates, and system upgrades as needed.
• Investigate and resolve issues involving hardware, software, and network connectivity within security installations.
• Support connected security technologies such as CCTV, intrusion detection, and alarm systems.
• Deliver both remote and on-location technical assistance to customers.
• Follow relevant industry standards and internal procedures in all tasks.
• Keep detailed records of installations, service activity, and system settings.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and fellow technicians during deployments.
• Contribute feedback to improve system design and ongoing service processes.
• Provide user training on system operation when requested.
• Handle service requests and take part in on-call coverage when required.
• Maintain a high standard of customer service and professional conduct.

Required Skills and Experience

• Solid knowledge of enterprise access control architecture and system operation.
• Practical experience with Lenel, Honeywell, CCURE, Vanderbilt, or similar platforms.
• Working knowledge of networking basics, including IP addressing, VLANs, and fundamental troubleshooting.
• Exposure to integrated security technologies such as CCTV, intercoms, alarms, and Genetec/AMAG.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, wiring layouts, and system schematics.
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving ability.
• Effective communication skills and comfort interacting with clients.
• Capability to work independently as well as within a team.
• Relevant vendor certifications are an advantage, though not mandatory.
• At least 3 years of experience in enterprise security systems is expected.
• Background in installing and supporting access control systems within commercial or enterprise environments.
• Field service or project-based experience is preferred.
