Role overview
This position is for a Technical Business Analyst with deep experience in security-related work. The successful candidate will support a Managed SOC procurement by defining requirements, shaping the business and technical scope, and helping prepare vendor evaluation materials and the RFP.
Core responsibilities
You will gather and structure requirements for a Managed SOC programme, work with stakeholders to align expectations, and help ensure the procurement pack is complete, traceable, and suitable for vendor assessment.
Requirements and background
- Solid background as a Business Analyst within security or SOC-focused initiatives.
- Hands-on experience running requirements workshops and producing detailed documentation.
- Exposure to RFP activity, vendor assessment, or procurement support.
- Ability to convert business objectives into technical specifications.
- Strong precision in documentation and a high level of attention to detail.
Responsibilities
- Lead the capture of detailed business and technical requirements for a Managed SOC.
- Develop structured documentation covering business, functional, non-functional, service, and operating model requirements.
- Make sure requirements are unambiguous, traceable, and formally approved by stakeholders.
- Organize and run workshops with Cyber Security, TechOps, and other relevant groups.
- Build consensus on priorities, standards, and scope across different stakeholders.
- Review and refine requirements to reduce ambiguity and prevent scope creep.
- Assist in creating evaluation criteria and scoring approaches for vendors.
- Review vendor submissions and align responses against the documented requirements.
- Highlight gaps, risks, and trade-offs identified during vendor analysis.
- Contribute to the end-to-end RFP documentation pack.
- Present requirements clearly so vendors can respond accurately.
- Support clarification rounds during the procurement process.
- Maintain requirements traceability, decision logs, evaluation records, and audit-ready evidence.
Desired experience
- Experience with SIEM, MDR, SOC operations, or threat monitoring.
- Exposure to enterprise security tools and platforms.
- Background in large, complex organizational environments.
