Role overview
Empire Life is seeking a Regulatory Compliance Assistant to support its Compliance function. This permanent role is based in Canada with a hybrid work arrangement available anywhere in the country. The position reports to the Director, AML and Regulatory Compliance, and focuses on administrative support for corporate compliance work, regulatory submissions, and related team operations. Assistance to Legal and Corporate Secretary teams may also be needed from time to time.
Compensation
The total target compensation for permanent roles in this position is $56,180 to $84,800, inclusive of salary and target bonus. The base salary within that range will depend on the selected candidate’s experience, skills, and internal equity considerations.
What you will do
- Administer the regulatory compliance management database, including updating regulatory changes and managing access-role adjustments.
- Coordinate the quarterly compliance attestation process with business units to ensure certifications are completed accurately and on time.
- Oversee the policy acknowledgement and compliance training program, including setup, rollout, and tracking completions in the learning management system.
- Help prepare and file regulatory submissions with bodies such as OSFI and FINTRAC while meeting strict deadlines.
- Keep the record of company representation on industry regulatory committees and working groups current.
- Support Legal, Compliance, and Corporate Secretary teams with administrative tasks such as invoice payments, access requests, continuing professional development registrations, staff reimbursements, supply ordering, library filings, and meeting coordination.
- Carry out other duties as assigned.

- Working knowledge of legal, regulatory, or corporate records and file management practices.
- Strong computer skills with word processing, spreadsheets, and database tools.
- Experience with regulatory compliance management databases is considered an advantage.
- A diploma in Business Administration or Legal Administration is an asset.
- At least 3 years of experience in administrative services.
