About the Role

Baselayer is hiring a Recruiter to support the growth of the organization by finding and hiring the people who will shape its future. This role owns end-to-end talent acquisition across Engineering, Go-to-Market, and Operations. It is a high-responsibility position with close collaboration with founders and hiring managers to create a strong hiring process and bring in exceptional talent.

What You'll Do

  • Manage the complete recruiting cycle for roles in Engineering, GTM, and Operations, including sourcing, interviewing, and offer closure.
  • Work with founders and hiring managers to clarify role needs, create scorecards, and preserve a demanding hiring standard.
  • Design and run sourcing approaches to find strong candidates through LinkedIn, referrals, events, and targeted outreach.
  • Oversee the candidate journey from first contact to final decision, making sure communication is prompt, respectful, and clear.
  • Keep the applicant tracking system organized and data accurate while continually improving pipeline hygiene.
  • Help build interview workflows that are structured, fair, and more predictive of success on the job.
  • Support employer branding efforts by sharing Baselayer’s story and attracting people aligned with the mission.
  • Monitor recruiting analytics and share updates on pipeline health, hiring speed, and quality of hires.

Minimum Requirements

  • At least 2 years of full-cycle recruiting experience, preferably in a high-growth startup or similarly fast-moving environment.
  • Proven ability to hire for technical and/or go-to-market positions.
  • Strong sourcing capability, with experience engaging passive candidates rather than relying only on inbound interest.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, paired with strong organization and process management.
  • Hands-on experience using an applicant tracking system such as Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, or a comparable tool.
  • Prior use of LinkedIn Recruiter.

Work Location

This role is based in New York City and follows a hybrid schedule with 4 in-office days each week.

Compensation

The salary range for this role is $90,000 to $120,000, along with equity. There is also an annual bonus component.
