Role Overview
S.K. Yeo Construction is seeking a Quantity Surveyor for its building and construction operations in Singapore. The role is based in the Ubi area and follows a five-day work week from Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM. This is a full-time position, with the possibility of a contract arrangement, and compensation includes a basic salary plus a variable bonus.
Key Responsibilities
- Track project spending closely and maintain cost controls so works stay within the approved budget.
- Take charge of the project from contract award through completion, including tender submission, progress claim preparation, and final account preparation.
- Put together procurement schedules and purchasing lists.
- Request, coordinate, and compare quotations from subcontractors, then prepare subcontract documents when needed.
- Log defects, keep accurate records for all variation orders, and submit variation order costs on a daily or weekly basis as required.
- Work with the Project Manager on monthly progress claims.
- Review subcontractors’ variation order claims and ensure all changes are processed according to the correct procedures.
- Monitor payment certificates for subcontractors and promptly issue payment advice to clients.
- Manage progress claims, payments, variation orders, and overall project close-out.
- Carry out additional duties as assigned from time to time.
Requirements
- A diploma or degree in Quantity Surveying, or a closely related discipline, is required.
- Applicants should have strong communication and coordination abilities for dealing with colleagues, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- The role calls for someone who can work independently with limited supervision and who understands local standards and requirements well.
