Overview
A leading aerospace manufacturing business in Southend-on-Sea is looking for an experienced Quality Inspector to support its inspection function. This is a permanent on-site role offering a salary of £28,000 to £33,000 per year, along with strong working conditions and a wide benefits package. The position suits someone with hands-on inspection experience in aerospace or a similar engineering/manufacturing environment, and who is comfortable using precision measuring tools.
Key Duties
- Examine precision parts and assembled components using micrometres, verniers and Faro Arm equipment.
- Perform First Article Inspections (FAI) as well as sampling checks on production batches.
- Carry out testing activities in accordance with Acceptance Test Procedures (ATP).
- Raise and manage non-conformance paperwork when issues are identified.
- Confirm that products comply with drawings, technical specifications and quality standards.
- Assist with release certification tasks and keep inspection records accurate and up to date.
Experience and Skills Required
- Prior work as an inspector in an engineering or manufacturing setting is essential.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings in both metric and imperial formats.
- Practical experience with precision measuring instruments is required.
- Working knowledge of FAI, ISO 9001 and quality management systems is important.
- Experience with SAP or another ERP system would be an advantage.
- The role calls for strong attention to detail and good communication skills.
