नोकरीचे वर्णन
Role overview
Whitewater Group is an engineering business focused on sustainable water treatment systems for data centres, pharmaceuticals, power, and industrial facilities across Ireland, the UK, and wider Europe. The company handles the full project lifecycle, from design and installation through commissioning and ongoing maintenance, with a strong emphasis on safety, reliability, cost efficiency, and environmental responsibility. It is headquartered in Naas, County Kildare, and also operates from European locations in Spain, Sweden, Finland, and the UK, with additional expansion planned in Germany, Denmark, and Italy.
The organisation is growing rapidly through its off-site construction approach, which helps deliver turnkey projects while reducing time spent on site. As part of this expansion, the business is looking for a QA/QC Engineer to support quality assurance and quality control on complex mechanical and electrical projects in critical infrastructure and data centre environments.
What the role involves
This position is hands-on and inspection-focused. You will work alongside the Lead QA/QC Engineer to carry out daily quality checks, support inspection and test plans, manage tagging activities, monitor NCRs, and keep documentation accurate and up to date. The role also includes supporting fabrication and module-stage quality checks, then moving on to site inspections and handover support when modules are delivered to clients.
The ideal person will be organised, proactive, and comfortable working with several disciplines and subcontractors to make sure quality standards, compliance requirements, and documentation controls are consistently maintained throughout delivery.
Key responsibilities
- Perform walkdown inspections at important build stages across mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation work.
- Assist with tagging activities and keep tag status information current during the build.
- Run inspection and test plans and maintain full quality records from start to finish.
- Raise NCRs, monitor their progress, and support timely closure.
- Review supplier and subcontractor documents and manage submission workflows.
- Support FAT work by witnessing tests, recording snags, and driving close-out actions.
- Travel to client locations after delivery to assist with inspections and handover.
Experience and qualifications
Applicants should have at least 3 years of practical QA/QC experience in an inspection-based role. Experience in mechanical and electrical walkdowns is required, along with familiarity with tagging systems in data centre or critical infrastructure settings. The role also calls for experience completing ITPs and raising NCRs on active projects, plus exposure to multi-subcontractor and multi-discipline environments.
Preferred background includes data centre MEP, off-site manufacturing, or OSM project experience. A Level 7/8 degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Process Engineering, or equivalent practical experience, is expected. Candidates should also have working knowledge of ISO 9001:2015.
Technical and working knowledge
- Mechanical inspection experience covering pressure testing, pipework, and valve checks.
- Electrical inspection experience covering cable checks, termination checks, and loop testing.
- Ability to review mechanical and electrical testing records before client submission.
- Understanding of tagging systems and asset tracking methods.
- Strong Excel skills for trackers and quality registers.
- SharePoint experience for document control and team collaboration.
- Procore experience across Inspections, Submittals, and Documents is a plus.
- Exposure to FAT and commissioning activities is beneficial.
Personal qualities
- Careful, methodical, and highly organised, even when working under pressure.
- Able to work independently after receiving initial direction.
- Clear and confident written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfortable collaborating with multiple teams and technical disciplines.
- Willing to travel within Europe for short assignments.
- Must hold a full clean driving licence.
Benefits
- Competitive pay package aligned with experience and qualifications.
- Opportunity for career growth within a fast-expanding organisation.
- Exposure to complex, high-impact engineering work across international projects.
- Access to ongoing internal learning and professional development.
- Chance to work with multicultural teams on global assignments.
- Supportive, collaborative environment that encourages innovation and shared learning.
- Involvement in technically demanding projects that promote continuous development.
