नोकरीचे वर्णन
About the Company
Ansept Construction is a growing general contractor that delivers residential, commercial, multifamily, restoration, and design-build work throughout Western Canada. The company is expanding its operations and is looking for a Project Coordinator who can take ownership of project administration on larger, more complex builds.
Role Overview
In this position, you will work closely with Project Managers while independently handling day-to-day coordination across multiple active projects. The role centers on keeping documentation accurate, schedules on track, costs monitored, and stakeholders aligned so that issues are resolved early and projects continue moving smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
You will serve as the senior administrative lead for several concurrent projects and act as the first point of contact for routine scope, schedule, and documentation matters before escalation to the Project Manager.
The role includes managing RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, occupancy reports, and warranty claims throughout the project lifecycle while ensuring response times support the schedule and records remain fully traceable.
You will also monitor project finances by tracking monthly billings, cost reports, and budget updates, and assist the Project Manager in identifying and applying cost-control actions.
Additional responsibilities include preparing and maintaining change order records, subcontractor communication, and contract administration documents in a way that is suitable for client review and audit.
You will support tendering, procurement, and buyout work by reviewing drawings and specifications for constructability concerns, risk factors, and opportunities to improve cost efficiency.
The job also involves coordinating with clients, consultants, municipal inspectors, and provincial authorities to support compliance, inspection readiness, and alignment on scope and timelines.
Site visits will be part of the role for quality checks, safety follow-up, and deficiency tracking, with the goal of helping resolve technical issues and maintain project progress.
At project completion, you will oversee closeout tasks such as as-built records, operations manuals, deficiency lists, and the handoff of warranty packages to the client.
Requirements
The employer is seeking a candidate with progressive experience in construction project coordination, including direct exposure to commercial, residential, or multifamily projects valued at $10 million or more.
You should have practical experience handling RFIs, submittals, change orders, cost tracking, and monthly billings over the full project lifecycle.
A post-secondary qualification in Construction Engineering Technology, Construction Management, Engineering, or a closely related technical discipline is required.
You must be comfortable reading drawings, specifications, and technical documents in order to identify constructability issues and cost risks early.
Experience working directly with consultants, inspectors, and regulatory bodies without needing Project Manager involvement for routine coordination is also necessary.
Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential, as you will prepare client letters, regulatory submissions, and internal reports with minimal editing.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel, Word, and Outlook, along with strong ability to use construction project management software, is required.
A valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle are necessary for site visits.
What the Company Offers
This opportunity comes with a competitive salary that reflects your experience and the size of projects you can manage.
There is a clear growth path toward a Project Manager position as you take on larger and more complex work.
You will gain exposure to a diverse portfolio that includes commercial, residential, multifamily, restoration, and design-build projects across Western Canada.
The role is designed to give you autonomy to manage your projects while allowing Project Managers to focus on strategy and client relationships.
Hybrid flexibility is available, with office-based coordination and site visits as needed.
The company also emphasizes investing in operational leaders as it continues to scale.
Preferred Qualifications
Consideration will be given to candidates with an Engineer-in-Training designation, or a bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management.
Experience with LEED or similar sustainability certification documentation is an asset.
Background on public-sector or municipal projects, including knowledge of tendering and procurement practices, would be beneficial.
Previous experience managing a project from site selection or early design through occupancy and handover is also valued.
Familiarity with Procore, Archdesk, MS Project, or similar platforms is an advantage.
Gold Seal Certified status, or active progress toward it, is preferred.
Experience mentoring junior coordinators or administrative staff would be helpful.
