Product Data Manager

Role overview

This position is for a Product Manager focused on data platforms in Cork. The role is hybrid, with three days each week required onsite. You’ll join a product team working on the next generation of data infrastructure, business intelligence, and analytics capabilities powered by AI.

Data platform delivery

• Help deliver data platform initiatives covering ingestion, transformation, storage, and presentation layers.
• Shape requirements for data pipelines, platform functionality, data models, and configuration features.
• Work alongside engineering teams to turn business and technical needs into clear, actionable outputs.
• Support prioritisation of platform work while keeping dependencies across multiple initiatives under control.
• Take ownership of selected product workstreams from defining requirements through to delivery.
• Monitor progress, surface risks early, and escalate blockers clearly to stakeholders.

Business intelligence and analytics

• Contribute to the build-out of modern reporting and business intelligence capabilities.
• Partner with teams creating dashboards, analytics, reports, and data visualisation solutions.
• Help ensure the platform is ready to support downstream BI, analytics, and AI initiatives.
• Assist with roadmap planning and dependency coordination across platform and reporting projects.

Stakeholder and customer engagement

• Develop strong working relationships with engineering, data, and product stakeholders.
• Join customer feedback discussions, discovery sessions, and usability testing efforts.
• Collect insights from users and stakeholders to inform requirements and prioritisation.
• Explain product choices, trade-offs, and progress updates to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Discovery and continuous improvement

• Run discovery activities to better understand business needs and customer pain points.
• Use data, feedback, and product metrics to spot opportunities for improvement.
• Find the right balance between feature delivery, platform quality, scalability, and long-term maintainability.
• Support ongoing improvements to platform capabilities and product processes.

Required experience

• At least 2 years of product management experience in SaaS, enterprise software, data, analytics, or another technology-driven environment.
• Track record of delivering software products or features from concept to release.
• Strong comfort working with engineering teams on technical subjects such as APIs, integrations, data models, and system architecture.
• Excellent communication skills and solid stakeholder management ability.
• Ability to operate well in ambiguous situations and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-moving product environment.
• Capability to simplify complex problems into manageable deliverables and prioritised workstreams.

Preferred background

• Exposure to modern data platforms, data warehousing, ETL/ELT workflows, or analytics ecosystems.
• Working knowledge of SQL and reporting concepts.
• Experience with BI tools and data visualisation platforms.
• Interest in AI, machine learning, and data-led product development.
• Previous work in Agile or Scrum delivery settings.
• Familiarity with discovery methods such as Jobs-to-be-Done would be an advantage.
