Payroll Specialist

Role Overview

We are looking for a seasoned Payroll Specialist to join a growing team based in Adelaide. This position suits a payroll expert with deep experience handling complete payroll cycles, administering payroll systems, and contributing to payroll transformation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Run full-cycle payroll accurately and within required timelines.
• Keep payroll system records and supporting documentation current.
• Apply Australian payroll legislation, Awards, and Enterprise Agreements correctly in day-to-day work.
• Handle month-end and year-end payroll tasks, including superannuation and payroll tax obligations.
• Assist with payroll system rollout work, testing (UAT), data migration, and preparation of process documents.
• Generate payroll reports and address payroll-related questions and issues.
• Support Kronos administration and help drive ongoing process improvements.

Candidate Profile

The ideal applicant brings 10–12 years of payroll experience in a medium to large organisation. You should have a solid working understanding of Australian payroll legislation, Awards, Enterprise Agreements, superannuation, and payroll tax. Prior exposure to payroll platforms such as CHRIS21, SAP, and/or Kronos will be considered an advantage. Strong Microsoft Excel capability is important, along with experience supporting payroll projects, system implementations, and documentation work. An Accounting or Finance qualification is preferred.
