Role overview
Broadstreet Properties is seeking a detail-focused painter to join its Alberta Regional Office in Edmonton, AB. The role suits someone who enjoys varied work, takes pride in clean and efficient execution, and is committed to high-quality results. The main purpose of the position is to keep apartment and townhome properties looking polished and “market ready,” especially when units become vacant.
Key duties
- Examine vacant apartments, complete the required documentation, and carry out painting work as needed.
- Handle larger repainting assignments assigned by the Specialty Teams Supervisor, including corridors, shared spaces, and office areas.
- Coordinate with the supervisor on which units should be painted first based on priority.
- Complete repairs related to wall damage, caulking around tubs, and ceramic tile touch-ups.
- Work carefully and efficiently, including cleaning brushes, rollers, and other tools, then returning equipment to the proper storage area before the end of each day.
- Take on additional tasks as required.
Qualifications and working style
- At least 2 years of experience in the painting trade.
- Practical knowledge of painting tools, equipment, materials, and standard application methods.
- Ability to prepare surfaces and apply paints, stains, and related materials across different surface types.
- Physically capable of climbing ladders, working in tight spaces, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Highly organized, able to work quickly, and comfortable managing urgent tasks.
- Able to stay calm and professional when working under pressure.
- Strong focus on safety and maintaining a clean work environment.
- Good communication skills and the ability to read and follow instructions accurately.
- Willingness to travel between multiple sites.
Compensation and benefits
Pay starts at $23.20 and can go up to $29.00 per hour, with the final rate based on skill, education, and experience.
