Role overview
Join the Detroit Pistons and be part of a driven team focused on creating meaningful impact for fans, the organization, and the community. In this position, you will help strengthen member loyalty by delivering a high-quality experience, nurturing long-term relationships, and proactively supporting members throughout their journey.
The role centers on retaining and expanding the membership base through excellent service, relationship management, and revenue-generating efforts such as new business development, upselling, and cross-selling. You will also help create memorable touchpoints and personalized interactions that deepen engagement and support renewal growth.
Key responsibilities
- Manage service and retention efforts for a dedicated portfolio of members.
- Drive new business opportunities while also identifying upsell and cross-sell potential within the existing base.
- Build referral opportunities by developing strong relationships with current members.
- Maintain clear, consistent, and relationship-focused communication with clients.
- Stay knowledgeable about member benefits and team initiatives so you can proactively support customers.
- Deliver highly personalized service that goes beyond expectations to improve the member experience.
- Track and manage customer touchpoints in Microsoft CRM Dynamics through calls, in-arena visits, handwritten notes, office meetings, and member-event interactions.
- Contribute fresh ideas for benefit programs, events, and renewal incentives that improve the overall membership offering.
- Support the planning and execution of member events, virtual experiences, mailings, gifting, and at-risk member outreach.
- Partner with Business Development, Group Sales, and Inside Sales to ensure smooth account handoffs and transitions.
- Use sound judgment and problem-solving skills to arrive at practical solutions for member needs.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree from an accredited university is mandatory.
- At least 1 year of experience in the sports industry is required.
- 1 to 2 years of background in sales or customer-facing service roles is needed.
- Strong written and verbal communication, networking, and presentation skills are essential.
- Applicants should show strong motivation, organization, attention to detail, and time management, along with a positive outlook.
- Ability to write in a creative yet clear and concise style is important.
- A collaborative mindset aligned with team goals and organizational vision is expected.
- The ideal candidate is proactive, personable, and self-driven.
- Hands-on experience with Ticketmaster, Microsoft CRM Dynamics, and Archtics is required.
