Janitor

About the Role

Farm Boy is seeking a Janitor to help maintain a spotless, safe, and welcoming store environment in Oakville, Ontario. In this role, you’ll contribute to the kind of fresh shopping experience the brand is known for by supporting customers and team members through reliable housekeeping, strong attention to detail, and a service-first approach.

Key Duties

• Provide approachable, helpful customer service in line with Farm Boy’s service standards.
• Greet and assist shoppers when support is needed.
• Keep work areas and storage spaces tidy, sanitary, and secure through routine cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, and dusting.
• Maintain shared team and customer areas, including lunch spaces, washrooms, and locker rooms.
• Help with monitoring inventory and ordering store supplies when requested.
• Follow company procedures with particular attention to health and safety, food safety, and proper equipment handling.
• Carry out opening and closing tasks assigned to the role and lend support to other team members as needed.
• Take on additional duties from time to time to help store operations run smoothly.

What You Need

• A strong interest in providing excellent customer service.
• Prior janitorial or cleaning experience in a grocery or food retail setting is an advantage.
• The ability to work on your own while consistently producing neat, high-quality results.
• Good attention to detail, cleanliness standards, communication, and organization skills.
• Comfort in a busy, hands-on environment with multiple deadlines.
• Willingness to stand for long periods, lift heavy items, repeat physical tasks, wear protective gear, and work around noise, dirt, dust, and cold conditions.
• Availability for a changing schedule that may include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Strong English fluency; French is an added asset.
