HVAC Technician

Role Overview

This position is part of the Engineering & Facilities team at a luxury hospitality property in Doha, Qatar. It is a full-time, non-management role based onsite at Ras Abu Abboud Street.

What You Will Do

You will be responsible for keeping HVAC, refrigeration, and air quality systems operating reliably. The role also involves monitoring the mechanical plant each day, managing property temperature, tracking energy and utility consumption, and calibrating gauges, meters, controls, and similar equipment.

In addition, you will work on electrical wiring, electronic systems, and pipe assemblies, including fittings and valves. Routine maintenance of pool and spa systems is also part of the job.

Work Standards and Conduct

You are expected to follow all company, safety, and security procedures, report maintenance issues, hazards, accidents, or injuries, and complete any required safety training and certifications. Maintaining a polished personal appearance, protecting confidential information, safeguarding company assets, and communicating clearly and professionally are essential parts of the role.

The position also calls for strong guest service behavior, positive teamwork, and the ability to respond appropriately to concerns from colleagues and guests. You should contribute ideas that improve efficiency, productivity, quality, safety, and cost control while meeting the property’s quality expectations.

Physical Requirements

The job requires frequent movement in confined, elevated, uneven, slippery, and stairway areas, as well as service ramps and ladders. You must be able to reach overhead and below the knees, grip and manipulate objects of different sizes and weights, and assist with lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and placing objects heavier than 100 pounds. You must also be able to handle objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance.

Qualifications

A technical, trade, or vocational school qualification is preferred. You should have at least 3 years of related work experience. Prior supervisory experience is not required.

Required Licenses and Certifications

This role requires an EPA Universal Certification, a valid driver’s license, and HVAC certification.
